GB Ep 28: Set Up the Right Criteria for Your Mastermind Group

Set up the right criteria for your mastermind group

Today we’ll talk about setting a criteria for a mastermind group. In episodes 21 & 27 we talked about the benefits of joining a mastermind group and how to structure it. Today, we’ll learn how to avoid weak links.

  • You don’t want to have people in your group that aren’t at the same level of everyone else because having a weak link will cause other members to question the integrity of the group. [01:40]
  • In order to have everyone at the same level, you have to set criteria. [02:00]
  • You want people who have accomplished something impressive and put a dent in the industry. You want people you can learn from. [02:10]
  • The people need to be hungry learners: people who are not falling behind and are really motivated. [03:01]
  • You need to have committed individuals who do not show arrogance. Showing up consistently takes commitment and respect and respect for others. Know-it-alls who think they can do it all on their own are the ones who try to lecture other people. You want a group of people who will help each other grow. [03:24]
  • Keep a bench of potential members who fit your criteria. This is useful when slots open up or when the group wants to add a new member. [04:23]
  • You can add 2-3 more criteria, but don’t go too crazy with it. Write it down somewhere and share it with your group so everyone can be on the lookout for people who will be a good fit in the future. [04:55]
